Qi is described in Traditional Chinese Medicine to be an ever-flowing breath of natural energy that flows in the body much like blood would flow through our veins. We are energetic bodies.
Qi is both an energy that sustains life and is also an energy that links the surrounding environment to the inner environment. By understanding the inner and surrounding energies, one can incorporate the two together to create a symbiotic relationship, a dance, much like a fish swimming in a flowing stream. How is your flow? As qi flows and is used in the body, it is channeled through various meridian points that each have a specific role. We often do things that affect the integrity of our energy, like eating incorrectly, not exercising, injuring ourselves, stress, poor sleep, a bad environment, emotional trauma, etc...
Where health is equal to the free flow of our energy, dis-ease is the stagnation of flow.
