Qi

Qi is described in Traditional Chinese Medicine to be an ever-flowing breath of natural energy that flows in the body much like blood would flow through our veins. We are energetic bodies.

Qi is an energy that sustains life and heals. It is an energy that connects the outer environment to our inner environment. It is at the intersection of the body, mind, emotion and spirit. Qi is the way that our thoughts effect our physical function and performance, the way that movement positively affects our mind,  and the way that an emotion resonates into our posture. When our qi is flowing freely, our innate healing force is available and we move through the world with greater ease.

As qi flows and is used in the body, it is channeled through various meridian points that each have a specific role. Our lifestyles and daily encounters effect our qi flow; what we eat, how we exercise, injuries, stress, sleep, our environment, relationships, emotional trauma, etc...

Where health is equal to the free flow of our energy, dis-ease is the stagnation of flow.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do you take Insurance?

A: Unfortunately I do not take insurance at the moment. I have created package deals for all of my offerings as one way to bring the price down. If price is still a major block to you receiving treatment please reach out and we can discuss options.

Q: Why did you become an acupuncturist?

A: I was first introduced to acupuncture during a bout of insomnia as a kid and then again in college. My sleep improved immediately both times. After that, I knew there was something special to this medicine. I started to pick up acupuncture texts as I got more curious about the energetics that I was discovering while giving bodywork. After a few books I knew that a life of studying this ancient system was a worthy way to spend my time and to become the best healer I could be.
